About
Competitive riders are discovering the many benefits that Pilates can bring to their sport. Improving strength, balance and flexibility in the saddle can lead to better results, ultimately giving a winning edge, which, at the top level, can be the difference between triumph and disaster.
Many elite athletes are adding core stability programmes to their regular workouts.
Not only does Pilates help riders with balance and coordination, it also assists by perfecting subtle communication with the horse.
Panacea Pilates is run by Level 3 Body Control Pilates Coach, Liza Randall.
Liza specialises in Pilates for equestrian sportsmen and women and is the author of Pilates for Equestrians and new for 2012, Eventing Explained, published in association with British Eventing.
Liza teaches in and around the Cotswolds, including the counties of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire.
Posture, Position and Pilates Clinics using the mechanical horse run monthly at the Equine Therapy Centre at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire. The next clinic is on Saturday, 30 June.
